My oppinion:
Being a pet rat owner myself, I had to
check this one out. I didn't really expect anything special
as I hadn't even heard of it before, but it was surprisingly
good actually. Crispin Glover
(Willard) did some fantastic acting in this one and I'll be
looking for more from him in the future. It's always fun seeing
R. Lee Ermey
(Full Metal Jacket)
as well and he does a decent enough job in this. The relationships
between Willard and his rats Socrates and Ben was really nicely
shown. It's not really much of a horror film as it's not scary
at all (might be if you're not a fan of rats..), but it is
actually kind of creepy sometimes. It's more like a black
comedy. The atmosphere is great and the rat CGI actually looked
decent enough as well. I've seen much worse.. Look out for
the scene where a cat is locked in the house with the rats.
That was pure brilliance! I really enjoyed this one, but I
have a feeling in the back of my head that it could have been
even better. I was very pleasantly surprised though!
