Contamination (1980)

Director: Luigi Cozzi
Genre: Horror/Sci-Fi

"A deserted ship arrives in New York City carrying its slaughtered crew and a horrific cargo: Mutant green eggs the size of footballs that pulsate with life until they spray hideous chest-bursting death. But when a government research team begins an investigation, they uncover a grisly conspiracy of murder, space monsters and coffee. Who is harvesting these alien hell-spores? What is their connection to a doomed mission to Mars? And most important of all, how many actors will die screaming in massive explosions of blood, guts and gore?" - from DVD Pacific

My oppinion:
Contamination is a very silly movie. Resembles Ridley Scott's sci-fi classic Alien, but don't think for a second that it's even close to being as good, naturally.. The beginning and the end are good, with some really nice gore effects of people's chests exploding and a bloke being eaten by an alien. Problem with this movie is the middle part, where it just gets boring. I didn't care much for the characters and the dialogue was lame for the most part (with a few involuntary funny comments). On the positive side again is the cool score made by "The Goblins". In conclusion, I probably won't see this one again soon, but it's good enough to be viewed once for the cool gore effects and the score.
