Below (2002)

Directors: David Twohy
Genre: Horror/Ghosts

"Beneath the surface, no one can hear you scream.

On what should be a routine rescue mission during World War II, the submarine USS Tiger Shark picks up three survivors of a U-boat attack. But for the crew-trapped together in the sub's narrow corridors and constricted spaces-the unexpected visitors seem to spark a series of chilling, otherworldly occurrences! Starring Hollywood favorites Olivia Williams (The Sixth Sense, The Postman), Bruce Greenwood (Thirteen Days, Double Jeopardy) and Matt Davis (Legally Blonde, Blue Crush)." - from DVD Pacific

My oppinion:
Below is visually very well made, and I like the idea of a ghost story on a submarine. Apart from the bit about the sub, the story is pretty old and predictable. They could also have done a little more work on the character development, because I really didn't care much about what happened to the people on the sub. Although it got me jumping a few times, Below didn't succeed in being especially scary, but in all fairness, it did have a few chilling and atmospheric moments. My conclusion is that Below is nice to look at, but I will forget all about it pretty soon.
